I am a Sunoki Children's Chair. At first glance it might seem that I’m not that sharp, but that doesn’t mean I’m careless. When I’ve got children in my care, I don’t believe in cutting corners.
Curator's Notes
It’s no secret that we hold hinoki wood in high regard at Nalata Nalata. Not only are we drawn to its fresh scent, soft texture and elegant tone, hinoki also proves to be a durable and versatile material with its naturally antimicrobial properties. We are eager to present Kazuteru Murasawa’s Sunoki Chair, made entirely of hinoki wood, at . Built for children ages 2-6 years old, this chair features a wide seat that not only accommodates kids of different sizes, but also provides a stable and sturdy base. The soft edges are rounded to keep children safe from injury as they clamber up to take a seat. The chair’s open construction adds a sense of airiness to the hefty furniture, while also making it easy to lift and pick up for storage.
